Extract and verify

Open a terminal or PowerShell in the folder containing the downloaded archive. These commands unpack your selected build and print its version.

tar -xzf ckc-darwin-arm64.tar.gz
mv ckc-darwin-arm64 ckc
chmod +x ./ckc
./ckc --version

These commands run the compiler from this folder. Adding the folder to PATH is optional and is a separate setup step.
